Magical adventures in Disneyland - Paris trip part 2

Are you ready for some magic?

I said in the previous part the night was long and nothing was going in our favour. First of all, we were soaked to the skin, also really tired, waiting a solid 30 minutes for a taxi, it was after midnight after all. The taxi ride was crazy, because of the traffic it took much longer than we planned. I was the only person who stayed awake and I "enjoyed" my chitchat with a driver about the competition between Taxi corporations and Uber/Lyft. After 1 am we arrived at the hotel. The check-in was terrible and the staff in this hotel was mega rude to us haha. I will not explain the details, cuz there are better things to talk about! As I said we had a really bad luck during this trip.

In the morning we woke up too late... part of the group because the other part was perfectly on time waiting for us in the lobby. We were late for the bus but still managed to get to Disneyland before opening.
The Entrance
This picture we took much later, while we were going to the second park. But it fits in this section I guess :P

The Park opens at 10 am if I remember correctly and there was already queue before opening. Fortunately, we bought our tickets online a few weeks before so we entered quickly as one of the first people. In the morning the weather wasn't the best, cloudy with a chance of rain, but it could have been worse. At first, we went to the shops on the Main Street USA, although we planned to eat something we just couldn't resist.. those Mickeys ears, all of the plushies, toys etc. you get it, right? haha

We actually didn't buy anything and went to eat because we were starving. Some croissants, cinnamon rolls and coffee and we were finally ready for the rides! Now it is probably worth mentioning that Disneyland Paris consists of two parks. We started from Disneyland, the second one is Walt Disney Studios. We looked at the map, felt totally disoriented so girls decided that it is picture time. And it was the right time! We saw the Sleeping Beauty Castle for the first time.

We started our tour at Fantasyland. The first ride we went on was Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain. I'll try to rate some of the attractions of the park, even though it is quite difficult and very individual. This one was an indoor roller coaster and it was the fast one! We went on this one few more times so the rating is 8/10.

Next was Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. This one was the shooter, we were seated two people into a car and the point of the game was to shoot the targets and collect points. As much as I love Toy Story this ride was not that good. Still, fun, but 5/10 should be fair. Then We went on Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and it was also indoor, little shakes and 3D glasses are not enough for me so 6/10.
Generally, we tried to go on all of the attractions. At first, the waiting time in the queues was not bad, around 15 minutes sometimes even less than that, but after 12 everything has changed. We found out that it is not possible to see all, so we focused mainly on rollercoasters and then other things if there was time.
Of course, in between rides we were going into all the shops because the merchandise is so amazing there.
We had so much fun in the shops!

Lotso that smells like strawberries from Toy Story 3!
And it actually smells of strawberries!!

We've been on so many rides that I don't even remember all, also it is boring for you to read about all of them so I will rate only those for some reasons "special".

There were several rides we all really enjoyed and went on more than once. For example Indiana Jones and The Temple of Peril. This deserves solid 8/10. It was a classic rollercoaster, not too fast but it has a loop! My personal favourite was the Big Thunder Mountain. This one is a rollercoaster on the mountain island located on the lake. We were looking for this one for a long time, thought it was closed and decided to go on another one. After we were seated and the ride started we were very surprised to go underground and then appear on the island we were looking for! This one deserves 9,5/10 and the 1,5 points are for the surprise factor.

Ready for the ride!
We ate lunch in the Hakuna Matata restaurant, charged the phones' batteries and decided it was time to move to another park. There was the Big Thing waiting for us, the ride we were the most excited for. Before the next park, we went to the shop where I decided to buy Mickey's ears, and the small Groot plushie and I was walking with them for the rest of the trip.

Ears, Groot and the crew!
At about 3 pm we were in the huge one hour queue for the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror! We were so excited about that one. Waiting is even more frustrating because the rides are generally short, like more or less few minutes. But this one is worth all that time spent in the queue! I'm scared of elevators and that ride is a big elevator that goes up 60 meters and then drops 40 meters down... It was incredible! Of course, we were secured with the belts but our bags and backpacks were literally flying in front of us! 10/10 for this one!

There were some mediocre rides like Peter Pan's Flight or Pirates of the Caribbean. There were also really bad ones, made for small children, but we still went to see them. But 1/10 will go proudly to "It's a small world". It is so so so bad! And the song there plays for I think 15 minutes, It was stuck in our ears for few more hours! Go on youtube if you want to hear it but I recommend you not to do it! In the second park, we also went to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. It is a really good one, very extreme, goes to 100km/h just in 3 sec!!! We went several times on it, 10/10 for the music too!

Of course, Disneyland is not only about the rides, but there are also so many attractions. For example, you can meet your favourite characters from the movies, see the princess parades, get lost in Alice in the Wonderland Curious Labirynth, there are shops, restaurants, nice green areas. Everything is nicely decorated, and the quality is at a high level.

Green area
We were in a really good mood as you can tell here... we took those dresses from the racks and started dancing in front of the castle, people were looking at us, even taking pictures of us.
Princes? Prince?
In the evening there was a show in the park. So many people stayed until 11pm to watch the 3D mapping on the Castle. It was very nice, during the show they projected many famous characters from Disneys movies and played well-known soundtracks.

We spent 2 days in the parks. Part of the group was leaving Paris in the morning and the rest of us could stay until the evening. The second day in Disneyland was as fun as the first one actually! We knew which rides and rollercoasters we liked and we knew the layout of the park so we didn't lose time for searching. On the second day, we also made some shopping. One of the items was this huge Mickey Mouse!

Huge Mickey
Did I say that on this trip we were not lucky? Oh well, so girls who left early bearly made it to the airport because trains were not operating correctly.
We had bought all train ticket in advance to avoid the queues. At 5 pm we were leaving Disneyland, we approached the train station next to the park, the plan was to take a 15 minutes train ride to Charles de Gaulle Airport, but of course, it couldn't work out for us as planned. As we were getting closer to the station I already knew something bad happened. There were crowds outside the building, and the station was closed. There were loads of police and military everywhere. Someone told us there was a bombing alarm. Great! Normally we would take a taxi and go to the airport. But our luggage was stuck in the lockers at the train station. We were waiting for one hour until the station was opened. Finally, we managed to take our luggage out but the trains were delayed and those going to the airport were cancelled. I think we spend like 2 hours running from place to place in search for some information. It was a total mess. After we decided to take a taxi we still had to wait for the available one. Then we had to negotiate the prices with the drivers, but we were finally on our way to the airport. We had less than one hour to a takeoff. We came to the security gates 20 minutes before departure. And here we heard the good news! Our flight was delayed, we had enough time for the check-in and even to buy some Prosecco to brighten our flight! All in all the flight was great and we made it back home!

It was a long post so I would love to hear some feedback from you guys! Did you like it? Feel free to comment, share etc.

XOXO
Chris
